In the Beginning

Natural elements, clean lines, and a passion for woodworking all joined together to ignite Timberwolf.

Started by couple Mike Wienold & Jess Mueller in 2014, Timberwolf creates handcrafted pieces of functional art for commercial and residential spaces, repurposing locally fallen trees, slabs and hardwood lumber.

Mike spent several years in land development working with trees that ended up cleared, milled or scrapped–all missed opportunities for new life. Jess, a former Special Education Teacher, had a passion for interior design and restoration.
Their collective desire to tell every tree’s story is what drives Timberwolf to this day. Making pieces that start in nature and end in handcrafted one-of-a-kind works of art.
Meet The Founders

MIKE WIENOLD

My grandfather was the head architect for the city of Chicago, his drive, passion, and hard work mentality, led my father and uncles to start a commercial construction company from the ground up. I spent my childhood surrounded by hammers and other various tools, learning from them about the importance of hard work paying off. As an adult I focused on a career in land development and construction, with a shifted focus on working with slabs and turning them into crafted pieces. Timberwolf was then created as a passion for woodworking, using slabs and hardwood lumber to create hand-crafted one of a kind pieces for commercial and residential spaces.

JESS MUELLER

I have always been passionate about design, interior design, natural elements and a lover of the outdoors. After leaving my job as a Special Education Teacher, I pursued creating Timberwolf with my husband Mike, who worked several years as a land developer, removing trees that ultimately turned into mulch. After late night discussions on wasted tree removal, a vision for creating a new purpose in these trees inspired us to create Timberwolf. Watching a tree turn from a beautiful living piece of nature into a piece of functional art is amazing.

MEET OUR ADOPTED WOLVES!

Micah

Meaning Symbolic
Timber Wolf – Born April 2009

Micah is a tall, lanky wolf who is all boy, especially when it comes to mud and water. He would remind you of a teenage football player that would love to tackle and play rough in the mud. However, he has a sweet side and gives off persistent reminders that you have more than one hand to pet him with.

He has also been nicknamed “Slurp” because he loves to gulp down water—subsequently approaching you with a drippy mouth to give you a big wet kiss.

Kekoa

Hawaiian meaning Brave One
Timber Wolf – Born April 2007

Kekoa is a handsome male with a sweet and gentle personality. He is often referred to as our “ladies man” due to his excitement when ladies enter his enclosure, both staff and guests.

He is well known for his thick, silver-gray mane with a striking appearance and for giving out kisses that are as big as he is. Kekoa came from the Seacrest Wolf  Preserve in Florida with his sister Sakara.
